Sitting on this particular log is where you can find Moonkin most any afternoon. You see, Moonkin is in love with a cute little elfette - but he's extremely shy and quite unsure how to let her know! As luck would have it, his little elfette walks past this log every afternoon on her way home and, though he has yet to let her know his true feelings, he is determined this very day to do just that! (Unbeknownst to Moonkin, the elfette in question is truly in love with him but is just as shy! She looks forward to seeing him wait for her each afternoon.)

Moonkin's Description

Isn’t love grand! Moonkin surely thinks so. He’s found himself a most comfortable piece of driftwood to wait for his true love. This little fella is sculpted entirely of polymer clay – except the piece of driftwood he is so patiently sitting upon of course. The entire piece measures 7” tall, 10” wide and 6” deep. Little Moonkin, as are all the Lil Darlin’s of Willow Hollow, is a one-of-a-kind piece. No molds are ever used during their creation and none made of the original afterwards. After the initial sculpt of his head, hands and feet/legs, he is baked, then given a rosy glow with oil paints followed by a wash of a dark acrylic paint to enhance his many fine details such as all those life and laugh lines. Once he’s dressed in his clay robes (created with thinly rolled colored clay) he is baked a final time and permanently attached to his little piece of drift wood which is decorated with dried flowers, small pinecones and reindeer moss. Moonkin’s other details include grey, glass eyes, an open mouth showing a few of his teeth, somewhat large elfin ears (which most elves do have!), along with detailed hands and feet showing his tiny fingernails and toenails.
An appropriately fashioned, 5 ½” by 4 ¼” story card telling of his true love dilemma along with a small, wooden card holder to display his tale of woe, sits along side of Moonkin for all to enjoy and maybe lose themselves in his fantasy world for just a bit.
As with all Lil Darlin's made entirely of clay, this piece is signed by the artist.
