Mossley's Story
A Lil Darlin' Original Art Doll
Stranded yet again! It’s
becoming increasingly more difficult to find dependable forest creatures
willing to pull your sleigh thru the enchanted forest of Willow Hollow.
All snug and cozy in his, temporarily (he hopes!), stalled means of
transportation, Mossley patiently awaits the return of the little
squirrel who was lured away by the trail of fairy dust, as even
squirrels aren’t immune to the enticements of fairy lore. Though a bit
inconvenient, Mossley knows traveling by any means other than by foot is
always a bit ‘iffy’. But he does so enjoy the speed at which he can
arrive at his destination…well, that is providing there’s nothing else
going on in the enchanted forest that particular day, and, of course,
that just is unheard of!

Mossley Description
Little Mossley, sitting 9 ½” tall
in his sleigh of 11” long (if standing, Mossley would be approximately
13” tall), waits patiently while the squirrel, most recently pulling his
sleigh, scampers about the enchanted forests of Willow Hollow, not being
able to resist the playful antics of his fellow forest creatures. Fixed
permanently to his sleigh in a sitting position, Mossley is quite
comfortable with his warm quilt and cushy pillow. His sleigh is made of
wood, bark and metal and decorated with soft reindeer moss, along with
silk and latex flowers, making his stay a bit more comfortable. Mossley
is one-of-a-kind and entirely hand sculpted from polymer clay - no molds
are ever used when creating Lil Darlin's of Willow Hollow after all! His
head, arms and legs are hand sculpted from a flesh tone polymer clay.
After the initial sculpt, his body parts are baked then given a rosy hue
with oil paints and an overall wash of a dark acrylic paint which allows
for his many details, such as all those laugh and life lines as well as
all the other wrinkles even elves are not immune to, to show to their
best advantage. Once his robes , draped about his body, along with his
quilt and pillow, have been created (all of which is done with thinly
rolled colored clay), he is given a final baking. He has large, brown
glass eyes, a somewhat larger than normal nose (although never too large
for an elf), with ears to match, and white, wool fleece hair and
eyebrows. His many other details include little bare feet (elves never
wear shoes after all! … this, by the way, does not mean your shoes are
safe from the sticky fingers of elves), those knobby knees of his,
fingernails and toenails. Along with Mossley is a printed, appropriately
fashioned, 5 1/2” by 4 1/4” story card telling of his unique predicament
in the enchanted forests of Willow Hollow along with a small, wooden
card holder to set next to Mossley so all can enjoy his entertaining
tale. As with all Lil Darlin's made entirely of clay, this piece
is signed by the artist.

As with all Lil Darlin’ Art Dolls, this is a One-of-A-kind piece. No
molds were used in the creation of Mossley
and none made of the
original afterwards. This piece has been signed and dated.
Please note that Lil Darlin's Art Dolls are created as collectible
