A Lil Darlin' Original Art Doll
Old Hippies...ya gotta love em!! This old hippie never lost that "peace, love and rock and roll" feeling of the 60's. It was a simpler time to be sure. His long hair, bell bottoms and snazzy sunglasses fit in quite nicely with the laid back attitude and mellow disposition of the original hippie genre. Unfortunately he's now only a "hippie" on the weekends and major holidays - since he felt the need to eat and pay rent. Somehow laid back hippies never really brought in much money, so he found it prudent to put aside his hippie beads and peace signs for a rolodex and cell phone. Yep, now he's working for the "man" - he's mayor of the small town he grew up in. He still finds time for a good protest every now and then...like just last week he showed up to protest with the local tree hugging society...unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse, the hair frizzed, allergies kicked in, soggy munchies...even for a hippie!...maybe protesting isn't as much fun as it used to be...

The Old Hippie's Description
This lil Old Hippie stands 26" tall, but prefers to sit on his wooden bench putting him at 20" (his bench measuring 6" x 10"). His head, hands and little bare feet have been hand sculpted from ProSculpt polymer clay, baked and painted with acrylics and oils to give him a realistic look, then attached to a padded, wire armature body, covered in a "knit" skin, all of which gives him a small degree of posing. His grey glass eyes twinkle in his aged yet ever so friendly face that embodies plenty of well earned wrinkles - it's not easy being an old hippie in a Gen X world! He still has a full head of "salt and pepper" hair of 100% wool, tied in a pony tail with a bit of leather. While his clothing, from his black turtleneck sweater to his bell bottom blue jeans, are created from recycled materials, they lend an air of reality with their era inspired style. His hand made leather sandals were created from - what else?! - more recycled materials. Along with the hippie beads around his neck and his peace sign charm, his snazzy purple sunglasses - not to mention his two finger peace sign - give this Old Geezer a nostalgia inspired fondness we can all relate to.

As with all Lil Darlin’ Art Dolls, this is a One-of-A-kind piece. No molds were used in the creation
of The Old Hippie and none made of the original afterwards. This piece has been signed, dated,
numbered 1 of 1 and comes with a signed Photo Certificate of Authenticity.
